Post Wedding Southern Brunch

There are so many things I love about this post-wedding brunch! I love that I got to design this party for a repeat client (I'll show you the party I did for them this summer on the blog soon!) I love that the wedding festivities were not just one day but rather a weekend-long celebration concluding with a casual Sunday brunch. I love that there were so many creative touches we were able to add to this party that were personalized to the bride and groom's personalities and story. And of course I love that there was not only an entire donut display, but also a bacon bar. Need I say more?!

With perfect fall weather, we opened all the doors and even created a custom bloody mary bar on the back porch in a space that was perfect for lazy Sunday lounging, lots of laughs and good conversation.

For this party we added personal touches everywhere - including the front porch! The bride was from Atlanta (where the wedding took place), the groom from Canada and the couple will make their home in Colorado, so we had our good friend Danielle at Highland and Monroe commission these three skyline chalkboards for the entrance welcome to blend together those three important elements of their story.

Let's not forget that a brunch is all about some GOOD food, and this menu did not disappoint. My client wanted a good ole southern style brunch so we filled the table with bourbon smoked deviled eggs, chicken salad sandwiches, biscuits the size of your head, a custom grits bar and a bacon bar for the bride, complete with smoked, candied and chocolate dipped bacon. Oh. My. Word.

Of course you can't have savory brunch food without something sweet to balance it out, and these decadent donuts from Bon Glaze were simply perfection. In case you were wondering, they tasted every bit as good as they looked!

Once the guests filled their plates with the bride's bacon and other deliciousness, they made their way to the cozy back porch where we featured beverages and a favorite of the groom: a custom bloody mary bar. To continue on with the personalization, we created custom monogrammed wine glasses that doubled as party favors for the happy couple and their guests!

Cheers to the happy couple!
