3 Tips For Celebrating A Graduate
It's that time of year again...spring is in full bloom, teachers are counting down the days and moms and dads everywhere are stocking up on tissues to watch their babies turn that tassle as they walk across the stage and get their hard earned diploma.
That's right, it's GRADUATION TIME!
It's no secret around here that we love helping our clients celebrate their people well, so today we're bringing you three tips on how to host a great celebration for your own graduate!
1. Be strategic about the date and time
The tricky thing about graduation is that typically all of the parties are happening around the same time. Drop-in parties are great for this type of occasion because it gives the guests the freedom to float between multiple graduates' parties to celebrate them all! Consider hosting your party a day or two after graduation to help with competing events. Not doable? Then make sure the window of your party overlaps other friend's parties so that guests have time to attend both.
2. Go easy on the food
Because your guests will likely be floating to more than one party, don't plan on serving a four course meal. Heavy appetizers or a light buffet (like the taco bar you'll see here) are great options for people to enjoy while mingling. And don't forget something sweet! For this party we set up a cake bar with three different delicious flavors to suit every sweet tooth.
3. Make it personal
There are lots of ways to make a graduation party personal and memorable! Start by busting out all those paparazzi first day of school shots you've been saving over the years. Then pick a color scheme that is fun and even a favorite of the graduate! For this party, we incorporated the graduate's new college colors of navy and green, but also tied in a few of the grad's favorites, blush and gold. Then we branded it all for a cohesive look!
We created a slightly more modern take on the classic southern monogram and designed a custom round logo with the graduate's name that we incorporated on everything from the invitation to the welcome signage, centerpieces, souvenir cups and even some adorable personalized Georgia Peach cookie favors from our friends at Sweet Details. Because if your name is Georgia, you better believe you have to have some Georgia peaches present!
